a little explanation

...about the last post.

Since it may have been a little hard to tell what Brie was saying, much less put in any sort of context, Dave started a game with the kids and the video was a continuation of that fun.

It all started with a bag of chocolates and the need to hide them from certain munchkins who are known to "supplement" their diet with treats throughout the day. The kids know we do this and they are becoming quickly aware of our favorite spots. Sigh. Which is why we've had to up the ante and thus the game of treat hide-n-seek was born.

So when Dave brought home a couple boxes of Joe-Joe's from Trader Joe's, he let the kids know the game was on and they'd have to find the cookies before they could eat them and because it takes a few days to consume these cookies, we've had a few days of fun with the game.

Related to the video itself...Dave had hidden the cookie boxes without the cookies in them but with a note inside instead (signed by Daddy "Z"). The kids did not like this version of the game one bit until I reassured them several times that the actual cookies were somewhere else in the house. Brie found the vanilla Joe's and I thought it would be funny to let Dave know they'd found them by capturing it on video. In the video Brie calls herself "Space Ranger Nova" as part of this game is based on a Buzz Lightyear cartoon the kids recently watched.

And there you have it. You're now in on the joke. :)
